Let's Move On

I feel Drake when he said, "Damn,  swear sports and music are so synonymous". JayZ is like Jordan. He will forever be the greatest, new school or old school. Biggie, Pac, and Nas are like your Birds and Magics. Wayne, T.I., Kanye, etc. are your Kobes and Iversons (Lebron, like Drake, in a class of his own for now).  To the older crowd, they are the best and they have little appreciation for Kobe and A.I. comparitively. MOST people in my age bracket or younger will go with Kobe over Bird or Magic.
Then you have your Wilt Chamberlains and Kareems. We understand they did some great things and were one of a kind in the 80s and 90s...but they are no longer one of a kind. In hoops 7' centers arent as rare these days. Likewise, rapping is not rare gift these days.  The Biggies and Pacs are still spectacular, even enough to keep them in the running for best of all time. But when are they going to exclude rappers like Rakim, LL Cool J, Snoop, Run DMC, NWA, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-1, Slick Rick.... C'mon R U serious? Let's be real if their name is not Biggie, Nas, Tupac, or Jay Z and they rapped pre-Y2K you are not top 10.  So I'm waiting for these judges like MTV or wherever else you find official lists to include some of these new and better rappers in the "Top 10" or whatever. I'm sorry, the music just sounds better. Granted production gets better with time but so do the artists. Songs are just structured better. Those who spit real lyrics today are just doing it flat out better ther the old heads. They laid the foundation but LET'S MOVE ON.
