Rebuilding the Roc?

After Jay-Z left the Roc for Def Jam, Roc-A-Fella Records hasn't been the same.  Dame Dash, co-founder and CEO of Roc-A-Fella isn't ready to call it quits with the label just yet though.  Good friend and recording artist Curren$y is releasing his new album "Pilot Talk" via the new Roc-A-Fella Records.  Curren$y is a pretty popular artist in the industry and could possibly bring the old label back with a hit record.  Another artist creating a buzz in the industry is Jay Electronica, another (incredible) New Orleans rapper who Dame Dash has been in talks with.  Curren$y is only inked to release this one album via Roc-A-Fella, and Electronica has no contractual obligations as of yet, but if things continue to heat up between these three things could get really interesting.  With Diddy promoting Rick Ross as "the new Biggie", could this be a sign of Roc-A-Fella and Bad Boy coming back to prominence?

  1. So apparently Curren$y IS NOT releasing the album through Roc-A-Fella Records, but through Def Jam in conjunction with Dame Dash's and Curren$y's DD172/Creative Control movement. Nonetheless I'm still anxiously looking forward for this album.
